I will start going to parties when we can talk about things that really matter. Like: What's your favorite bird? Have you found any cool rocks lately? Have you ever turned over a log to see what was under it? What did you find? What's your favorite dinosaur and why?

One of my favorite filmmakers is Hirokazu Koreeda. I have loved everything from Still Walking to Broker. One of the things I appreciate his movies is his hope to "connect people who are in conflict in a separated world."

This is so true. Most want to be heard. Few listen to another without just waiting to say something. To be truly present to another person is a spiritual act.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours. - Hermann Hesse
