Another day of #EMBOEvoEco and one more fantastic talk about antiphage defence systems! Aleksei_Agapov @Multi_Defence

Join us in Paris on April 8th-10th for the 2025 Symposium on the Immune System of Bacteria 🥖🍷🦠🧬. Excited to welcome these amazing speakers at Institut Pasteur, since 1887 . Registration will open beginning of November. Abstract deadline February 28. Stay tuned.

Our IBEID S2I fellow Jorge Moura de Sousa from the lab of @epcrocha is now presenting the inter-host diversity and mobilization of #bacteriophages and their satellites. #science #genetics #infectiousdiseases @doctor_jams Institut Pasteur, since 1887

Exciting news! I started the junior research group 'Complexes in Phage-infected Cells' at Helmholtz Centre for Infection research Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung –inaktiv looking forward to explore new jumbo phage biology. We’re hiring! Join us for a PhD position.

For the past two years, we have been working on a novel approach to identify origins of transfer by conjugation in plasmids from any bacterial species. We are thrilled to see this work now published in Nature Microbiology after thorough peer review! nature.com/articles/s4156…

Special kudos to the great @epcrocha and Amandine Nucci for their amazing support and contributions! For additional info, don't miss this thread on the work: x.com/M_AresArroyo/s…

CURIOUS ABOUT PHAGE BIOLOGY!? CPIC lab at Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung –inaktiv is recruiting in the call +++ CURIOSITY IS INFECTIOUS +++ helmholtz-hzi.de/en/career/job-… Did you spot the phage? Please share!

And here it is, the completed BASEL collection finally published as early access in PLOS Biology - see the thread for more details. 🤗🧬🎣

Excited to share our last collab paper, now out in print Science Magazine!🎉 We reveal how dITP synthesis activates a SIR2 NADase effector to block phage infection! 🛡️🧬 science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our paper is published back2back with one from Didier Mazel Loot Céline and Eduardo Rocha, where Baptiste Darracq & Eloi Littner show that Sedentary Chromosomal Integrons are biobanks of phage defense systems. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
