The Embassy of Japan in Ireland expresses sincere condolences on the passing of Mrs Yoshiko Ushioda, former curator of Chester Beatty. In addition to her work as curator, she contributed greatly to bilateral exchanges. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Mrs Ushioda’s family.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs Yoshiko Ushioda. She was a long-time friend of the Chester Beatty, promoting the museum’s world-class Japanese Collections. She is remembered fondly by her Chester Beatty colleagues and friends. May she rest in peace.
