I was honored to speak at the AHTCC to discuss the impact that the expansion of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit will have in #IL16. This improved housing credit prioritizes rural development and increases resources for communities across the country.

The Senate version of the bill includes a *permanent* 12% Housing Credit allocation increase and lowers the 50% test to 25% *permanently*. Will finance well over a million more affordable homes than otherwise possible.

We call it the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' for a reason. President Trump and House Republicans are: 🛑 Stopping a massive tax hike 🌾 Protecting more farm families from the death tax 🏘️ Expanding Low Income Housing Tax Credits ...and so much more!

New from us: There’s no final megabill text or score and not enough Senate votes yet and trouble looming in the House. And still, in the Capitol today, a sense that the bill’s inevitability will overcome its implausibility. Link below:

This proposal would significantly expand the capacity of banks to invest in the Housing Credit - especially important in light of the recent expansion of the program. Very glad to see it included in the comprehensive Banking Committee markup next week.

Director Pulte & U.S. Federal Housing (FHFA)'s decision to allow the GSEs to increase their LIHTC investments is welcome news, especially in light of the recent historic expansion of the program- now expected to finance 1.2m more affordable homes, and requiring much more private sector investment.
