I find animations useful to teach metrics to undergrads. I believe it improves understanding to see what goes on. Here is a thread with my favorite GIFs, most of them are re-makes of stuff from #EconTwitter.

There's data for only 41 of the studies collected by Gino, 14 of which are posted. Twelve of these 14 datasets were already public. It means that only 2 (!) datasets got posted after the Many Co-Authors. Do the other teams not believe that the field deserves transparency?

BDRM Day 1 highlights: 1. We randomly assign participants to conditions, but don't randomly assign stimuli to conditions. This leads to biased hypothesis tests. 2. MTurk respondents are really low-quality. Use Prolific or Cloud-Research approved participants. 1/n

Last year, Killingsworth, Kahneman, and Mellers published a paper reporting that, for a group of unhappy people, money does not improve happiness. @dingding_peng, Sebastian E. Wenz, and I wrote separate critical comments of it, which were published today.
