Traveling to the other end of the GI tract with Sarah Melton discussing dietary fiber as a therapeutic for GI disease 🌾#GINSymposium2024

Konstantinos Gkikas presents preliminary data from the intensive post enteral nutrition study iPENS. EEN works very well but inflammation increases rapidly following discontinuation, particularly in those with FCal < 250 following EEN. iPENS provides valuable information why. #ECCO2024

If you don't have a dietitian, get one! Dr Emma Halmos opens the last day of #ECCO2024 with a fantastic presentation on the necessary role of diet in the management of IBD and the need for dietitians in every IBD clinic

Pleased to share my first PhD original publication. Includes: - database of Aussie emulsifier containing foods - development of a high and low emulsifier diet & nutritional analysis - tolerability study of diets doi.org/10.3390%2Fnu16… Emma Halmos Translational Medicine at Monash University

Challenging the idea of how dietary emulsifiers behave, as 2nd original paper from my PhD. A high emulsifier diet reduced intestinal permeability & low emulsifier protected against stress-induced intestinal permeability. Emma Halmos Translational Medicine at Monash University doi.org/10.1111/apt.18…

Happy to share our study! After 4 weeks in active Crohn's - emulisifers within healthy diet have no impact on intestinal inflammation - a healthy diet ⬇️ sonographic inflammation, ⬇️fatigue, ⬆️quality of life, ⬆️clinical remission & improves body comp. Excellent poster by Sarah Melton on the addition of Fibre in #EEN normalising basal small intestinal permeability & stress induced changes #ECCO2025
