No matter how many medals Sarah Hildebrandt ends her career with whenever that day comes, America has truly been blessed to have such an incredible woman representing the sport of wrestling. Sweet, goofy, hard working, disciplined, resilient. Truly a role model for anyone

I don’t think people realize how BRUTAL scratch weigh ins can be. Wrestle all day, cut weight late into the night, and then have to put on the performance of your life. We need a second day allowance.

Competing with a concussion is DANGEROUS. Secondary concussions can cause lifelong implications. Asking someone to wrestle through a TBI is insanity.

I don’t think people understand how little money wrestling pays. Worlds is the ONLY tournament that pays a significant amount of money. Older athletes aren’t going to risk injury for a tournament that pays pennies on the dollar.

Didn’t hear anyone complaining when the women brought home 2 gold medals & 4 medals at the Olympics this summer 😌

Making the third stall call a 2 penalty is a good idea but an even better idea is to just penalize wrestlers for going out of bounds.

Easiest way to fix this? Make a transfer fee. Whatever school the kid ends up at has to pay a % of the NIL deal they’re paying out to the smaller university they took them from. Same thing they do for European Football. Rewards smaller teams for developing talent.

The NIL stuff is wild to me, because when I won nationals back-to-back years all I got was a sweatshirt. Grateful for the progress women’s wrestling has made since then😅

In case anyone needs a crazy final X story- in 2023 I was wrestling with an (essentially) broken neck. The only way we controlled my migraine issues was dilating my eyes so I wouldn’t be able to see. Had to be lead to weigh ins & timed it so I got my sight back during warm ups😅
