Between 10% and 15% of cancer cases have a hereditary component. Can I know if I have inherited a mutation that increase my cancer risk? How would this help in prevent cancer? These are the questions familial cancer 'detectives' try to answer. bit.ly/3ZuPfKu

The Familial Cancer Unit at #cniostopcancer studies over 600 cases a year. 30% are healthy people with a family member with cancer and an identified hereditary mutation. Knowing if they have inherited the mutation can help with preventive decisions and a monitoring programme.
