Students who have the same teacher for a second year: - Do better in tests. - Attend slightly better/truancies reduce. - Have fewer behaviour incidents. Even students who weren’t in the class the previous year feel the benefits.

Since 2014, we've had seven Education Secretaries (Gove, Morgan, Greening, Hinds, Williamson, Zahawi and now Donelan). If a school had been through seven headteachers in that time, alarm bells would be ringing. Very, very loudly.

Dear parents, you will have seen that the government has awarded teachers a pay rise. Unfortunately, what they haven't told you is this. The government aren't paying for it, your children are.

Only took 8 years to get to a sensible place on differentiation. So glad that Ofsted has smashed through the nonsense around differentiation.

Being a teacher is like having 30 phones ringing, all at the same time. Unless you've done it, you'll never really understand how difficult it can be.

I'm a Deputy Head in a school. I am on site by 7am every day. I have kids of my own. They have been home from school for more than an hour when I get back. So I know its safe to ignore the "9-3:30" rhetoric being used to discredit teachers.

Teacher workload: F/T teacher on 22/25 lessons teaching. If I have a pre planned, centralised, fully resourced SOL and I spend 10 mins giving each lesson a cursory read through - not even adapting - that’s all my PPA plus 0.6 of another session used.
