DC fast chargers & Waffle House? It's a match made in hashbrown heaven—charging your EV faster than you can finish breakfast! Frst wave of 50 sites at the 24/7 restaurant is already in the works, & "could make a big difference in EV charging accessibility" x.com/ElectrekCo/sta…

PA schools are going solar, & benefits of these grants go beyond providing clean power. Rural arrays can align with agriculture education, city panels tap into rooftop solar innovation & installs create more jobs. Sounds like a plan (for other states too)! bit.ly/3FjfPzG

Forest loss made a disturbing spike last year, per University of Maryland & World Resources Institute. Not coincidently, 2024 was also the hottest on record. Forests are a CO2 sponge, and wildfires caused 4.1B tons of CO2 emissions in 2024, 4x emissions from air travel in 2023.

Check out this chart: People around the planet are pluggin' in and taking battery-powered cars to new heights. Last year, it was 1 in 5 sold worldwide, per IEA report; this year, forecasts are for 1 in 4. There's plenty of drive & optimism for cleaner air. bit.ly/4jlhym3

NOAA officially forecasts 13-19 named storms, 6-10 becoming hurricanes, & 3-5 becoming major. Climate change has altered hurricane season w/ hotter ocean temps, heavier rains & increased flooding—“Everything is in place for an above average season.” bit.ly/43M3Nbf

EDF General Counsel Vickie Patton on this dangerous proposal by the Trump Admin.: “It flies in the face of common sense and puts millions of people in harm's way to say the single largest industrial source of carbon dioxide in the United States is not significant.”

Emissions from the U.S. power sector rival the emissions of most countries’ entire output. Saying that these emissions “do not contribute significantly to dangerous pollution” won’t make it true. It defies common sense & puts people in harm's way, per EDF's Vickie Patton.

Just don't call it a gas station. Circle K's first EV charging-only station in Europe is a game-changing site complete w/ convenience store & chargers that can "fill 'er up" from 0-80% in 15 minutes. These EV-exclusive networks are expanding worldwide. bit.ly/3HbRzQy

Fascinating look at gender disparities among “EV curious” by group encouraging folks to plug in to EV ownership. "Women said helping the environment was a top reason to drive electric, tied with saving money." Yet only 1/4 of women had heard much about EVs, vs nearly 1/2 of men.

Let's see...No tailpipe emissions ✔️ no oil changes ✔️ and now a massive decline in brake dust pollution ✔️ per new research that also breaks down other positive factors of driving clean cars. All those EV benefits just keep adding up for human health + environment + pocketbooks!

Colorful, creative, & above all an important visual of climate change has a new redesign as global warming continues to impact well beyond just Earth's land surface. New version of "Climate Stripes" now includes oceans & atmosphere data and surely will go viral like its original.

“Keep acting every day. Never resign yourself to defeat. Progress isn’t a straight line. But it only bends toward justice when people keep showing up to push it.” 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏻 Inspiring words from EDF President Fred Krupp for the graduating class of Yale School of the Environment !

Imagine being only 1% shy of reaching a goal—& still have 5 years to get there! That's the projected pace the EU is on, per analysis of hitting its reduction of net greenhouse gas emissions target of 55% by 2030. "Climate action & growth go hand in hand." reut.rs/3SWWGqg

An historic milestone for this electric boat might just portend the future of clean marine travel on the open seas. The 24-nautical miles across the Mediterranean took just over an hour —same as regular ferry trips but w/out polluting emissions!

Earth just experienced decade of 10 hottest years on record, & the next 5 will likely include more tipping points & extremes. Per WMO forecast, "There's an 80% chance the world will break another annual temperature record in the next 5 years." cbsn.ws/3HhLIt1

DYK there are glaciers in Africa? Many of them are declining, like those in the Rwenzori Mountains seen here. "The Stanley Plateau glacier decreased by 29.5% from 2020-2024 & Mount Speke no longer supports a glacier," NASA said. Similar scenarios have played out across Africa.
