From the moment Epiphany School students enter pre-k we are building their sense of community and belonging. Celebrating each student for their gifts and facilitating moments of togetherness bolster confidence for each student, helping to create this important foundation.

Happy 100 days of school! It's hard to believe we've reached over 100 days, however here we are. 100 days of learning, fun, and growth is a milestone worth celebrating—and our students did just that this week!

First grade is a year of remarkable and exciting growth, especially in learning to read. At Epiphany School, we work persistently to meet the needs of every student. This means supporting the challenges and extending the strengths of each child.

Happy International Women's Day to all in our community who identify as women and who have or know an incredible woman in their lives! All month our students have been learning about women's history and the contributions of women—including women in science.

It's been so wonderful hosting our friends from Thailand for the last couple of weeks through the Prasarnmit Primary International Programme. It was an educational and fun-filled visit—new friendships and memories were formed by all!

This week kindergarteners took a field trip to the Seattle Chocolate Factory. Students were given an inside look at how chocolate is made—they investigated cocoa beans, taste-tested various chocolate truffles, and carefully observed the chocolate engineers at work!

Epiphany School fifth graders put on their spectacular performance of "Theseus and the Minotaur" this week, and wow was their Minotaur (and the rest of their performance) impressive! Congratulations to the fifth-grade class and their teachers on this fantastic performance!

Engaging diverse perspectives is a skill students learn throughout their time at Epiphany, and is a key focus of students’ fourth-grade year—helping them emerge as courageous and confident learners, and as students who can be aware of and compassionate to the challenges of all.

Last week our first graders took a field trip to the Center for Wooden Boats as a culmination of their unit on boats. They toured the museum, took to the waters of Lake Union on rowboats, and even used tools to build their own boats!

With spring in full swing, students have taken advantage of the warmer weather with more outdoor learning and play—here are some recent highlights of spring learning in action!

Kindergarteners walked all around campus this morning to pick up trash in celebration of Earth Month! This is just one example of how we bring service learning into classrooms—bringing awareness to students' sense of community, and the things we can do to make a difference.

Congratulations to our third graders for completing their Biography Museum today! The Biography Museum is the culmination of their biography unit, where they display the "bottle buddy" they've created and present a speech on their selected subject. Well done third graders!

Inventors at work! In STEM class, these fourth graders designed and programmed a creative “therapy robot,” complete with comforting accessories like tissues and tea 👏

As part of their economics unit, this morning our young entrepreneurs hosted the Second Grade Toy Expo, showcasing the business they created, sharing the toy they made, and delivering persuasive speeches about why their company is worth investing in. Good job, students! 👍

It was so fun to see so many families participating in Bike to School Day this morning! Bicycling can help enhance children's health, create safer routes, and reduce traffic congestion and pollution—and it's a great way to get outside and explore.
