Guest Speakers are important to us, they should reflect the industry and those who work within it. They should also represent all areas of the industry that Equity covers. In 2024 we had 15 Guest Speakers in total, some as solo speakers and some on panels.

We ran 3 Audition Days this year: for the National Theatre Live, the Octagon Theatre in Bolton and The Dukes Lancaster in Lancaster. There were over 100 audition spots available in total via the lotteries and we received more than 3 times that number in applications!

We've spent a lot of time visiting variety artists in their workplaces this year with our Branch's 2 Variety Officers and Equity regional staff members pressing the Comedians' Charter & Equity Drag Artists Networks.

Our Motion that went to Conference in May was passed unanimously. The Motion asked for Equity to ensure that companies in receipt of public funding meaningfully engage with the union on the use of collective agreements.

We always open our doors to all Members - and prospective Members! We want our industry to be a better place for everyone therefore everyone is always invited. Join us in 2025 and you'll see for yourself what everyone in this video is talking about! #StrongerTogether
