Don't shoot the messenger! We're locked & loaded with several straight days of rain across WNY. Most of this will fall Wednesday through Friday, although there will still be some Saturday leftovers. Bolt has his rain jacket ready!

A beautifully textured sky at sunset this evening as moisture aloft starts to move in. Clear skies are nice but clouds can make for the best sunsets. Captured over Lake Ontario from Webster.

Rochester has recorded at least a trace of rain on 75% of our May days. That includes our back-to-back dry days we just enjoyed. Starting tomorrow, it's back to wet weather. Seems all but certain this will be our wettest May since 2017.

Rochester and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad May- Look, rain is a good thing. There's nothing wrong with a wet month, particularly as we head into our summer months. But man, it's been a dreary 23 days of May overall. Of those 23 days, we've had measurable rain on 16

WE EARNED IT: It's been a LONG time since we've seen a sunset. Tonight's rare display was worth the price of admission. Captured from West Webster this evening as sunlight was briefly able to penetrate through the persistent overcast. A sign of brighter days to come.

Sailboats are out enjoying the evening on Lake Ontario. What the heck is going on behind them? This is a mirage, the byproduct of warmer air overtop the cooler water. This difference in air density causes objects, in this case distant land on the horizon, to be stretched and

On a cool evening in Syracuse, two news people brave the rain to see Avril Lavigne in concert. Note how only one of us is wearing ear plugs…

On a starlit night, the faint pink glow of the northern lights can be seen over Lake Ontario. Camera only tonight, folks. My eye was unable to discern any color at the time of this capture.

It's been a slow start to warming up the Great Lakes this season. For some perspective, Lake Ontario's average water temperature this time of year is around the lower 50s. We're currently averaging about 45°. While that is not a record in terms of cold (we were in the lower 40s

CAN YOU SEE IT? All eyes will be on the prospect of a "Severe" (G4) geomagnetic storm Sunday night. We all know how fickle these forecasts tend to be. Let's, for argument's sake, assume that G4 forecast is spot on and actually happens Sunday night. Will your local sky cooperate?
