I love project reports where ecologists disclose wild animals sabotaging their interventions. this one report im reading on mink removal is like 'a muskrat destroyed our raft trap' and there is a picture of the culprit with zero regrets

i'm puppy-sitting for my neighbors today and it's a polar vortex like storm outside and Teddy doesn't have a coat. Do i carve open my own body to give him warmth and shelter like Leo did with the bear in the Revenant/Han Solo with the Hoth animal in Star Wars? Y/N?

I think maybe my proudest accomplishment in 2023 was breaking five French coffee presses. Every time I buy a new one I show it the ‘graveyard’ of those that came before so it knows to stay in line. No this is not working

learned people, i am looking for something i can't put a name to. about the power & agency of scripts/schemas -for example when you have a form that you tick for e.g. data collection. are there any critical takes on this and which problematize the script's power?

I’m always a bit thrown when this bus passes me in sthlm. Like you turn your head on your bike and it’s 1.5m from your face. But I do feel that more public transport should be animal themed, going forward

Would you like to read about the shenanigans that users get up to when livestreaming slow-TV on wildlife? The anthropomorphisation, species bingos, watchparties, competitions and 'crying with joy' at animal sightings? You can now read my new article sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Between highly personal journeys with wolves and detached cultural histories of the wolf now is finally a book that is very levelheaded and analytical. you can now read Thorsten Gieser’s wolf book open access transcript-verlag.de/978-3-8376-747… recommended!

My boy ain't deserve this. the OneWhale NGO tasked with his protection & relocation have done a terrible job these past 4 yrs IMO, just accepting donations, welcoming new members to their ever-growing team and posting on social media.

I will be presenting in the Monitoring session! Can’t wait to see Oxford again, it’s been like 20 yrs! Also why isn’t there an academic speedrail between Cambridge and Oxford so I can do both while there? 😭
