In this preprint, Aylwyn Scally, Richard Durbin and I present evidence for deep population structure shared by all modern humans biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Aylwyn Scally Richard Durbin

Another paper on a large African mammal just got online! 🎉🎉🎉 This one was lead by Xiaodong Liu, Long Lin and Mikkel-Holger S. Sinding. Here, we explore the evolutionary history of black and blue wildebeests, and discuss consequences of disrupted migatory routes: nature.com/articles/s4146… 🧵

I will be co-chairing the session on Plant Genome Applications next Tuesday October 1 at 14 CET, together with Katja Reichel Katja Reichel and Katie Herron! We will be talking about our genome assembly projects and its applications followed by an open discussion.

We find that #impala is a potential paradox of evolutionary stasis. A lineage that is static may be assumed to be so because of various processes leading to absence of sub-populations. However we find evidence of high population structure in impalas onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/me…

Very happy to see our work on impala's population genetics published! 🎉This was the first project I started working on during my PhD. See thread by co-author Dr. Laura Bertola with the main findings and beautiful impala photos

New #BGE case study!👇 Thyme's diverse chemotypes provide adaptation to different habitats, and climate change drives shifts in these traits. A new #referencegenome will help protect this diversity and support ecosystems. Visit:biodiversitygenomics.eu/2024/10/21/map… Genís Garcia Erill European Research Executive Agency

Are you an evolutionary/population geneticist in Denmark? The EPIC conference is back and it will take place on 11-12 August 2025 in Aarhus. Come along for two days of great talks and networking! #EPICdk25 Hosts: Molekylærbiologi - Molecular Biology & Population and Statistical Genetics Group at UCPH Register now at: popgen.dk/epic/

Very happy to see our paper on saola genomics published! 🦄🐂 Congratulations and thanks to all co-authors, and specially to co-first author Shanlin Liu who started and led the project, to my PhD supervisors Rasmus Heller and Anders Albrechtsen and to co-senior author Tom Gilbert!
