I am loving the vibe at #NASHPCONF23 where I got to talk about my favorite topic—using data to inform health workforce policy to an audience of state leaders who liked the content of my remarks but also appreciated my funky, pink and blue socks 😂

Fashion and workforce policy are returning to the 1960s-time to revive investments in PC, community-based training, interprof. models of practice and training, HCW diversity, integrated care models, and federal GME $$ targeted to pop health needs. Wait! That sounds like an AHEC!

Great morning ⁦NC Board of Nursing⁩ sharing results from “backcasting”NC Nursecast. There were many fewer RNs and LPNs in practice than we forecast based on historical trends. We’re investigating these “missing” nurses and why some NC regions were more resilient to shortages ⁦

Oh that one-of-kind, sick-to-your-stomach, queasy feeling you get after submitting a proposal that you believe in heart and soul. This life of chasing funding to solve wicked problems is both thrilling and nauseating!
