Dry season sampling at our páramo site in Chirripó. One-day hike of 45 km (28 miles), +2850 m, 9.5 hrs. Lake, spring, and stream water samples collected.

On March 20 2013 we collected our first precip sample at UNACostaRica. We are officially celebrating 10 yrs of continuous sampling (1178 samples and counting). Take a look at our 'lab' at that time! We were ready to break on through to the isotope side!

Back in 2013, we started sampling precipitation using the old school methods . So much fun we had using mineral oil for preventing evaporation! 😂

On my way to El Salvador to provide an IAEA national training course on radon measurements in surface water and groundwater in the field and lab. Looking forward to continuing our collaboration with IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ and my colleagues at MARN El Salvador on isotope hydrology.

It is always exciting to break in new instruments. IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ donated to MARN El Salvador two new RAD7 detectors for 222Rn analysis in SW and GW (including a flow cell for continuous analysis in the field). Can't wait to test them in the field this week!

I could not make to #EGU23 in person but I will virtually be presenting a work on Costa Rican and Andean Paramo ecohydrology modeling. Check it out next Wednesday 26 during PICO session HS7.9 (16:30-18:00 CET).
