#WildlifeWednesday: The robin (Erithacus rubecula), with its bright red breast, is a true winter icon! ❄️ Even in the coldest months these birds love a good bath! 💧 Splashing in shallow water helps them keep their feathers clean and insulated. 📸 mauribo

#WildlifeWednesday: Meet the #Teal (Anas crecca), the UK’s smallest duck! 🦆 In winter, these pretty dabbling ducks flock to flooded gravel pits, reservoirs, and floodplain meadows. Males and females have distinct colours, but both sport a bright green wing patch. 📸 Denja1

#WildlifeWednesday: Meet the tenacious #tench (Tinca tinca). This shy freshwater fish, often called the "doctor fish," thrives in waters with plenty of vegetation. Its olive-green hues blend perfectly with weedy habitats in lakes and slow-flowing rivers. 📸 slowmotiongli

💰 Polluters must pay to clean up our waterways. Next Tuesday, the Water (Special Measures) Bill reaches a critical stage in the House of Commons. We’re calling on the government NOT to scrap the #WaterRestorationFund, which ensures Water Company fines fund river restoration.

#WildlifeWednesday: Often overlooked, the #StockDove (Columba oenas) is a beautiful but understated member of the pigeon family. These birds favour old tree hollows for nesting so you might spot them near rivers that flow through parkland or ancient woodland. 📸 Neil Bowman
