@EUAMIraq hosted a coordination meeting facilitated in partnership with NSA, bringing representatives from various Iraqi ministries to exchange experience. EUAM Iraq remains committed to strengthen Iraq’s efforts in CVE through inclusive and sustainable approaches.

EUAM Iraq held a 3-day workshop in Halabja on Strategic Command, Control & Crisis Management, bringing together Halabja Police, Civil Defense & JCC_KRG. The session focused on coordination, leadership & communication in emergencies.

Head of @EUAMIraq presented to EU Member States Misson's progress in supporting civilian security institutions at federal and regional level. “Despite existing challenges, Iraq has reached a level of stability. This offers an opportunity to move forward with reforms,” he said.

@EUAMIraq conducted a training on behavioural detection for officers of the Iraqi National Security Service (NSS). This activity supports the NSS in identifying early signs of radicalisation and risk indicators through an inclusive security strategy.

EUAM Iraq Chief of Staff and Mission members welcomed H.E. Serge Dickschen, Ambassador of Belgium to Iraq. Discussions focused on the Mission’s activities and ways to enhance cooperation.

EUAM Iraq’s Environmental Adviser held a meeting with Dr Al-Yasiri, Director of the National Joint Planning Centre at the National Security Advisory, to support the future implementation of Iraq’s National Climate Security Strategy for 2025–2030.

A delegation from EUAM Iraq led by Ralf Schroeder, Deputy Head of Mission, received a courtesy visit from H.E. Marianne Bolger, the Ambassador of Ireland to Iraq based in Jordan (Irish Embassy Jordan). Both sides discussed their respective activities and topics of common interest.

@EUAMIraq delivered a 3-day course on Modern Strategic Leadership in Erbil for 25 officials from across the KRG MoI. The training enhanced leadership skills in planning, stakeholder and risk management & communication. It supports Iraq’s SSR efforts, focusing on good governance.

The Head of @EUAMIraq, Anders Wiberg, received the outgoing Commander of Operation Inherent Resolve, Brigadier General Olivier Celo, before the end of his tour of duty. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest and updated each another on their activities.

Deputy head of EUAM Iraq Ralf Schroeder met with Deputy National Security Adviser Dr. Zaidan Khalaf Al-Atwani at ONSA to explore closer cooperation on civilian security sector reform. Discussions also focused on supporting the implementation of Iraq’s National Security Strategy.

@EUAMIraq welcomed a German MoI delegation led by Tom Krumm, Head of the Mission Support Division. The visit included meetings with key partners, including the MoI’s Training and Qualification Directorate. The delegation reaffirmed their support.

Desertification & drought exacerbated by climate change are threatening Iraq’s stability, forcing displacement & straining resources. With 92% of land at risk, restoration is vital. @EUAMIraq supports integrating climate risks into Iraq’s National Security Strategy.
