Lately, the Mission handed over a large consignment of specialized equipment to the Direction Generale de la Police Technique et Scientifique. The equipment is designed to enhance the efficiency of the personnel in carrying out their duties, both in laboratories and in the field.

On February 26, we welcomed Mr. Adil El Madani, Desk Officer Sahel at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mrs. Marta Hermez, First Secretary at the Belgian Embassy in Mali. Mr. Peter G. Kolding, Head of Mission, highlighted the contributions of the Belgian contingent.

ESM & IOM STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP WITH NEW ADMINISTRATIVE AGREEMENT IOM Mission Chief and DHoM have signed an administrative agreement, further solidifying their partnership. This collaboration also includes joint support for Mali's Border Authorities, including the DNF and DPAF.

On Thursday 20 March, His Excellency, Mister Patrick DE BOECK, Ambassador of Belgium to Mali accompanied Colonel Kris QUANTEN, the new Defence Attaché of the Belgian Embassy in Senegal with accreditation to Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Cape Verde for a courtesy visit to EUCAP.

From March 1 to 28, EUCAP Sahel Mali and its partners from the Internal Security Forces concluded 9 training sessions, delivered 65 days of training and trained 230 FSI personnel, including 63 women. Training topics covered a wide range of fields.

The Head of the European Union Delegation and Heads of the EU Member States Missions in Mali attended a meeting at EUCAP HQ on April 3, to be informed about the new mandate and the various priority areas of action of the EUCAP Sahel Mali Mission.

EUCAP and the National Forensic Directory have installed and tested a technology to identify unknown substances. This infrared spectroscopy is used for the analysis of organic samples such as narcotics. These results can then be used to identify traffickers.

On 11 April, EUCAP and its partners of the Brigade for the Repression of Migrants’ Smuggling and Human Trafficking new spaces: a wallpapering room with tinted glass used by victims to identify suspects, boxes for the taking of statements and separate living spaces for victims.

𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗦 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗥𝗦 22 police officers completed a week-long training on Patrol Management & Human Rights, led by Malian trainers and an EUCAP expert.

From Monday, May 19th to Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, the members of the #regional #CCS of #BAMAKO are meeting for a #capacity building #session based on strengthening their #KNOWLEDGE on the #environment, current #threats and #Security challenges and how to deal with them.

In Koulikoro from May 12 to 14, 2025, 44 participants, including 6 women, attended the training on human resources management. The training aimed to consolidate the achievements in HR management, to harmonize interpretations and to clarify the key mechanisms of career management.

On May 22, a British delegation composed of Sigolène Hobson, the Defense Attaché based in Dakar, Victoria Denton and George Dickinson visited EUCAP. This courtesy visit was an opportunity to present the mandate of EUCAP Sahel Mali and to explore possible synergies.

From19 to 23, 2025, the medical personnel of the National Gendarmerie strengthened their skills in the initial care of victims of sexual assault or violence. Emphasis was placed on respecting the principles of forensic, specifically DNA collection.
