All NSF grants to Harvard appear to be cut. They are really mobilizing the pro-cancer voter base.

lots of people are reacting to news of NSF cuts by saying that cutting basic research will hurt the industry. I am out here to say: fuck the industry, support basic research because it is the right thing to do for a country that wants to be a world leader in innovation

Friend informed me that Chinese / Singaporean universities are now flooded with applications. Admin has done a great job setting off a brain drain from the US.

When the Trump administration cancels funding, the first reaction is "why?" But that's the wrong response. Basic research should not be politicized EVER. There should be no Maoist commissar making funding decisions.

No one owes scientists funding. But the funding we receive is overwhelmingly used to build a brighter future for both the US and humanity. Cancelling research and decreasing funding makes the future worse.
