Calling all Indian nature lovers! We're looking for locals to help with a Citizen Science project on Indian freshwater turtles, where students collect water samples for turtle eDNA, microbial diversity, and water quality. Contact Merin Joji for more information!

We welcome our new postdoc Ricardo Ely, PhD, cosupervised with Rasmus Nielsen as part of our Villum Fonden project Stochastic Morphometry. Ricardo will study bird beak evolution (like in this kākāpō) using methods developed by our Centre for Computational Evolutionary Morphometry team.

Kicking off Geometric Morphometrics workshop at University of Copenhagen Research and Dominika Bujnakova teaching 3D landmarking!!! 🐺

A blurry bbq night for the EvoMorphoLab! Thanks @BlomStine Merin Joji Sarah du Plessis Ricardo Ely, PhD for the great picture!

PhD student Michael Baand presented his research applying an upwards LDDMM framework to model phenotypic changes along branches of the butterfly phylogeny at the International Congress of Entomology International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP. Nevermind the typhoon that followed...(he is home safe;)

How do lizard skeletons adapt to the evolutionary reduction of limbs? ow.ly/rSAw50TFtzj #ProcB #OpenAccess Dr Marco Camaiti ChappleLab Alistair Evans EvoMorphoLab

I never get tired of Dr Marco Camaiti's gorgeous lizard drawings! See our new paper to find out what happens to lizard pectoral and pelvic girdles when they lose their limbs and start swimming in sand.

Yesterday our group had the pleasure of hearing Quentin HORTA's research on lacertid lizards - the group I studied for my PhD over 12 years ago! This just shows that lacertids never go out of style...🦎🦎🦎

We got the nature cover 🎉! Read our article to learn how compressive forces sculpt the intricate head scales of crocodiles 🐊 The Milinkovitch-Tzika lab Genetics & Evolution Université de Genève nature.com/articles/s4158…

HUGE congratulations to Merin Joji for her award as a Writing-Up Fellow in Morphometrics in Evolutionary Biology at the Konrad Lorenz Institute KLI: A Home to Theory that Matters in Austria. She will spend 6 months there finalising her PhD thesis, with guidance from top researchers in the field.
