Our EWG High School Holiday Plant Sale is Dec 12th from 4pm - 7pm in the greenhouse and agricultural area behind the school! The Floriculture and Garden Club students have been working hard this semester learning to grow a wide selection of herbs and cold tolerant vegetables!
Our EWG FFA students were hard at work making different ice cream recipes for a themed fun competition at Narragansett High School. Our FFA students were very creative and made a beautiful animal barn backdrop to their animal barn ice cream flavors!
On Sat, March 8 at 2 PM, there will be a Best Buddies event at URI Men's Basketball! The tickets cost $15! All are invited to attend!
Our Best Buddies Chapter will receive $5 back from every ticket purchased! This is a great fundraiser for our chapter!

Stay for the "The End of Winter Chorus Concert" (since 3/20 is the first day of Spring!) right after the art show from 7-8PM in the Jr/Sr High School auditorium. This features The Junior High Chorus, The SH High Chorus and The Chamber Singers.
The State FFA Floriculture CDE Competition was held on 3/27/25. Students had to take flower ID, equipment ID, & Plant Science Knowledge Exams & they had to create arrangements & a Team Floral Design. Please wish Olivia Hathaway, Clare Titus, Oliver Kocab, and Sadie O'Connor luck!
Congratulations to the students who participated in the State Wind Turbine Competition last Saturday. Hobbits of the Wind received the Spirit Award. The Nordic Ducks tied for first place in the KidWind Division. Revenge of the Soup won second place in the Advanced Division.
Drivers Education class begin 4/29. see schedule. This program is for for high school students, ages 15 years and 10 months through 21 years. Completion earns a cert that can be presented to the DMV for a Driver's Permit. Info re the CCRI Driver Education Curriculum is below:

EWG High School Annual Plant Sale on 5/3 and 5/10 from 8-12pm! Students have grown a variety annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetable starts, and hanging baskets for the upcoming plant sale. Hope to see you there!
In biology, Ss learned about ecology & the importance of biodiversity in ecosystems. Ss learned that plants & animals play roles and provide food, air and water, & help to control pest populations. Ss were divided & given a plot of land to design & create biodiversity gardens.
A Big Thank You to Ben at Wild Harmony Farm for giving some of our FFA and Garden Club students a farm tour yesterday! We learned a bit about regenerative farming, and how that can be applied to raising beef and pork. We all had a great time and you inspired many of our students!
