Today I joined Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilwoman Bonner to announce the installation of a new innovative alternative onsite wastewater treatment system at West Cedar Beach via a $100,000 grant from Suffolk County.
My prayers are with former President Donald Trump and those bystanders who were injured and killed earlier today at the rally in Pennsylvania during this assassination attempt. I’m thankful for the actions of the Secret Service and local law enforcement who quickly acted.

Suffolk County was significantly impacted by the remnants of Ernesto overnight. I have spent the morning surveying damage and will officially sign an order declaring a State of Emergency shortly. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Swimming at Smith Point County Park is extended for two weekends past Labor Day until September 15. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on September 7-8 and September 14-15. Enjoy the rest of the summer and please be safe.

Suffolk County Fred’s is coordinating the response to three major brush fires on the East End. We are working with the town of Southampton closely. The National Guard is also involved in water drops that began sometime ago. Sunrise highway remains closed past exit 58.
