Loads of exciting opportunities to work with us in rare disease genomics - come and join ExeterGenomes Exeter Rare Disease Exeter Med School University of Exeter in lovely Devon! See sites.exeter.ac.uk/rarediseasegen…. DM me if you'd like to discuss.

Landmark study led by @DrElisaDeFranco & Nick Owens shows ZNF808 loss causes human pancreatic agenesis. This is the 1st congenital disease caused by loss of a primate-specific gene and highlights that conservation isn't always a useful marker of disease causality Veera Rajagopal 

Very honoured to recieve this award from Dr.V.Mohan MDRF. Privileged to visit Dr Mohan’s outstanding comprehensive clinical service offered to people living with diabetes - the best I have seen anywhere in the world. Very humbling to see how much you have achieved diabetesgenes

Another fascinating talk at #SGGDExeter2024: new MGH Research Scholar Melina Claussnitzer, Ph.D. presents her group's work correlating genetic variants & polygenic scores to molecular processes underlying metabolic disease, shedding light on mechanisms of insulin resistance Mass General Brigham

As #SGGDExeter2024 comes to an end, MassGeneral News rising star Miriam Udler closes the meeting by sharing her views on whether partitioned polygenic scores can illuminate the heterogeneity in type 2 diabetes, inform mechanism and potentially influence diagnosis and management.

Had an awesome time at #SGGDExeter2024 this week. Thanks, @mnweedon, Sarah Flanagan, @athattersley, and team for organizing a great meeting! Greatly enjoyed seeing so many great people and learning with all of the fantastic talks!

#DUKPC is ending with a bang as we hear from Angus Jones, giving the RD Lawrence lecture. The majority of #T1D is diagnosed in adults. But misdiagnosis is all too common ➡️incorrect treatment & a misunderstanding of adult onset type 1. Dr Jones wants to rewrite the story.

What a fantastic few days. First the CHI Children's Hyperinsulinism Charity UK & Ireland conference where we learnt so much from the families living with #HI. Then #ESPE2024 where we met colleagues, planned new research and showcased the team’s work Jonna Männistö Pamela Bowman Jasmin Hopkins
