A beautiful but frustrating #WormWednesday capitellid posterior. It slithered out of a empty clam burrow in a shale reef fragment. ~150 mm long w/ retractile branchiae. Live & preserved pics. I hammered that rock for a week trying to find the rest of the worm but no luck

Pretty, petite, & possibly undescribed. Protula sp found by @CSULBLarvalLab two weeks ago in San Diego Bay, California, a hotbed of introduced species. Now "living" in the NHMLA worm room. We'll be going back to collect more #WormWednesday

I love this species so much! Had to share the full body view of the candy cane worm Dorvillea moniloceras now at #NHMLA This beauty wasn't even the brightest one but it was the most cooperative #WormWednesday

Am I a heretic posting non-polychaetes for #WormWednesday? In my world, yes. Some nemerteans I photographed last year - Tubulanus sexalineatus, Amphiporus bimaculatus, Cerebratulus lineolatus from southern California. Now waiting at Natural History Museum of L.A. County for some researcher to love them

Worm vs Snake! Snake eel pulls a giant eunicid out of its tube by rapidly spinning & winding the worm around its body. I've seen this behavior filmed once before; in that video the victim was E. aphroditois. Great UW capture by seamandoman x.com/seamandoman/st…
