UPDATE: University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is still refusing to disclose what its Physician Associates are actually doing. An internal review upheld their use of the 'health and safety' exemption (S38). Why are they so reluctant to share scope of practice? Why is this information confidential?

Great plan! Sack the doctors who kept the NHS afloat during the pandemic when all they’ve asked for is a road map to pay restoration … and then hire more noctors at £10,000 more a person. Might get Wes Streeting a promotion to the Chancellors job on that kind of street smart!

It is extremely concerning that PA union @UMAPS leader is calling for Trusts to use PAs to substitute Resident Doctors (contrary to advice of GMC & NHSE), instead of calling on Govt to avert strikes. Especially as PAs are linked to multiple never events x.com/shr_nottingham…

Wow This is a serious case for corporate manslaughter by DoH, NHS E, GMC, CQC, RCP et al PAs involved in more than 40 never events in 5 years in one trust. I bet that’s underplaying it too!

⚠️ NHS England is still hiring senior staff to expand the Physician Associate workforce – even while it’s under a national safety review and the organisation is being shut down.

History time! The RCGP was pushing drop shipping courses as they had destroyed the actual job of General Practice. I am not making this up. And some say that I’m the out of touch one. Fuck you.
