One thing that really irks me about this whole generative AI thing is people simultaneously celebrating the "democratisation of art" and also crowing that "it's over" for artists. As if artists were some kind of privileged class gatekeeping people from making art for themselves.

Think for a second. AI is killing human Art. The current approach taken by big AI companies for image or music generation is flawed. Instead of making AI a tool to assist artists, the AI does everything, and the human just writes prompts, basically just “ordering” the artwork.
