Ahead of #WorldBeeDay ADG, Director FAO Livestock, Thanawat Tiensin & FAO Ethiopia Rep, Farayi Zimudzi & her Team held a roundtable discussion emphasizing the need for better planning, synergy, efficiency &impact to align Food and Agriculture Organization’s work with national/regional livestock priorities.

Innovation Policy Lab (IPL) project launched in Ethiopia! Led by FAO Innovation & Ministry of Innovation and technology Ethiopia, it aims to transform agrifood systems through inclusive, evidence-based policymaking. Integrating IPL with ETH’s Startup Policy to support agritech startups & youth-led innovation.


Over 2 days, the #InnovationPolicyLabs (IPL) in Addis Ababa, supported by FAO Innovation & Ministry of Innovation and technology Ethiopia & brought together policymakers, researchers & startups, exploring evidence-based policymaking for agrifood systems. IPLs support startups & shape inclusive policies!


With funding from Sida, Food and Agriculture Organization supports mitigating the negative impacts of anticipated drought on vulnerable pastoral communities in Oromia & Somali regions, Ethiopia. Key actions: Animal vaccination & treatment, training animal health workers & #CAHWs & distributing animal feed.


Supplementary animal feed distribution is underway in the Somali region, #Ethiopia, as part of Food and Agriculture Organization’s #AnticipatoryAction. The project aims to safeguard livestock assets of vulnerable communities to droughts & sustain core breeding stock productivity. Thanks to Sida for funding.


Livestock vaccination to address the negative impacts of anticipated droughts have been accelerating in the Somali & Oromia regions, Ethiopia. Today, Food and Agriculture Organization & partners vaccinated small ruminants in Ayun district, Somali, against identified diseases, thanks to Sida for the funding!
