📍Berbera Thanks to EU Delegation Somalia funding, a collaborative meeting is taking place among key Somaliland government ministries including Ministry of Planning and National Development-JSL, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, @slmoadt, Ministry of Water Resource | Somaliland, Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development SL, National Disaster Preparedness & Food Reserve Authority(NADFOR) alongside SWALIM.

The 2023 El Nino had a great impact on the humanitarian crisis in South and Central Somalia, causing displacement of people and increased vulnerability of communities in the affected areas. Happy to note that our work contributed greatly to saving lives and livelihoods.

There has been a noticeable increase in number of open breakages along both Juba and Shabelle rivers occassioned by ElNino floods. Urgent action is needed to protect livelihoods.
