We celebrated the 100th day of school today by doing all of our favorite things- READING, WRITING, and STEM! We read 100th Day Worries, wrote about disguising the number 100, and used STEM practices to build and create structures out of 100 items.

Distance learning does NOT replace classroom experiences. But, it can be meaningful and fun! I can’t wait for this weeks learning map in LA! We’re reading Thunder Cake, analyzing how characters change, and then making thunder cake! Mmmmm...

Another eye-opening advantage to distance learning- students get to share things they normally would not have the chance to. @Flipgrid gives us the opportunity to see each other’s talents in our Morning Meeting! And what a way to get them engaged with a Bitmoji scene!

Loved watching CaseyMBethel at the Teach Your Heart Out conference! Despite all of the unknowns coming this fall, these concepts always remain the same: I will be sure to continue to take risks, develop relationships, and show resilience in teaching.

Back to work tomorrow!! I have thoroughly enjoyed my maternity leave with these amazing kiddos, but ready to dive right into teaching!

We toured the world today for Our UES Tourist Day! We went to Greece, Italy, Egypt, Hawaii, and so many more places! I just love the enthusiasm of these scholars!
