A2: I think coaching with the 7 essential questions will help me become a better listener and therefore a stronger leader. Asking the questions can help staff reflect and discover their own potential. I don't have to have the answers. #FCPSLIFTCHAT

A3 This question has me thinking about my current format for post observation conferences. A new habit will be to ask teachers to reflect more on each domain and spend more time listening. #fcpsliftchat

A4 I would like to spend more time on development. The 3Ps model will help the coachee have a more specific focus and thus a greater reflection/development after each is discussed- people, project, pattern. #fcpsliftchat

A5 I completely agree with Dr Dillman. It serves as a way to encourage the coachee to further reflect and can act as a pause for the leader before falling into the advice trap. #FCPSLIFTchat

A6 The focus question asks the coachee to consider the root of the challenge. By asking, "what is the real challenge for you," it keeps the focus on what it is that is within their control. #FCPSLIFTchat

A7 Focusing on what the coachee wants helps to put he/she at the center of the focus. Of course the relationship and trust you have is the most important factor in outcomes.

Paul Fer A8 I agree with Paul Fer. It keeps the solution in the hands of the coachee while also providing the coach the opportunity to be a helper. It also stops us from thinking we have to have all the answers. #fcpsliftchat

A9 This is a difficult concept when you have spent a long time being a yes person. I have found in the admin role that it has worked best for me to say Let me think about it and gather more info. It allows for time to review policy and seek guidance from colleagues. #fcpsliftchat

A10 This makes me think about the EOY reflection that I ask teachers to complete. It provides them the time and space to really decide what worked best for them and what they want to continue to do the following year. This is important for administrators as well. #fcpsliftchat

A11: The learning question provides a retrieval opportunity and more reflection for the coach and coachee. What will stick for both involved and result in great long term efficacy? #fcpsliftchat

A12- What is best for students? I use this question to guide my decisions on a daily basis. In our field it is most important. It would also assist coachee as they face varying situations and hopefully also become one of their guiding principles as well. #fcpsliftchat
