We’ve had a rollercoaster few years when it comes to standards in public life. What better time to reflect on 30 years of the Nolan principles, what we’ve learned and what now needs to be done & who better to lead on this than Institute for Government - proud to be invited to contribute.

Yet again, we see a tired narrative that the route to solving funding issues (in this case NI water) is simple: cut public sector jobs. The problem is, this is never followed by any substantive proposal on where/what jobs should be cut and the impact on service delivery.
