Year 2 have enjoyed their first lesson on using a thesaurus in English today. We looked up synonyms for some overused feeling words and everyone was thrilled, elated and overjoyed to find new words to use in their own writing. Emma Hardy Smith @ St.Anne’s

Year 2 celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day in their red, white and blue yesterday and decorated bunting to mark the occasion. We talked about what the ending of the war would have meant for people 80 years ago and the importance of remembering. Emma Hardy Smith @ St.Anne’s


Year 2 went on an explorer hunt this afternoon to learn about some of the early explorers. They had to find the explorer’s pictures then match them to the right clue. Emma Hardy Smith @ St.Anne’s


In Year 2, we practised our oracy skills this morning by asking each other questions to begin planning our own explorer stories. We used the phrase “tell me more about…” to challenge each other to add more detail. Emma Hardy Smith @ St.Anne’s

In our PSHE lesson, we have been exploring how we change as we get older. We talked about the things we could do as a baby, as a toddler and what we can do now. We organised items to make our own timelines of life milestones. Emma Hardy Smith @ St.Anne’s
