There is ice on the Moon! Researchers have found direct evidence of water ice located in the darkest and coldest parts of the Moon’s polar regions. The ice deposits were detected by a NASA instrument aboard @ISRO’s Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft. Learn more: go.nasa.gov/2nZVunP

Most of this water ice on the Moon lies in the shadows of craters near the poles, where the warmest temperatures never reach above -250°F. With enough ice at the surface, water would possibly be accessible as a resource for future expeditions to explore and even stay on the Moon.

Bit behind (as always), but wanted to post another link to a touching story that Jenny Woodman, a Science Communications Fellow on the E/V Nautilus wrote a few days ago. Have a read...and have a kleenex handy. proteusscicomm.org/2018/09/01/oce…

"Dear 2nd Graders, Your teacher asked me to speak about what girls do on our ship, adding that you all thought only boys could be engineers and that made me a little sad." Read the letter from Nautilus SciComm Fellow Jenny Woodman Proteus: proteusscicomm.org/2018/09/01/oce…

Former NASA Admin @cboldenjr advocates getting to the surfaces of the Moon and Mars to do in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) & prove it works. #AiaaSpace

Jim NASA We need a “path finding” rover mission to the poles - resource prospector would be good for this and some of the commercial companies have rovers that could carry that payload. This would be in line with what George Sowers Lunar Mining wksp report stated.
