No injuries to report after this crash where the car burst into flames. It happened just after 11am in the westbound lanes of Sunrise Blvd, near I-95. The driver lost control and slammed into a pole. We checked him out and extinguished the fire.

In 1970, Bobby G. Glenn became the first Black firefighter in FTL & Broward County. 🔥 He served 22 years with #TeamFTL, retiring as a lieutenant in 1992. Today, we unveiled a permanent exhibit, cementing his legacy in FTL’s history. 📍 Old Dillard Museum 🏷️ @flfr411

Just after 4:20 AM this morning, FLFR responded to a truck that was on fire along the 2300 block of SW 17th Avenue. Crews arrived to find a vacuum truck filled with used cooking grease on fire. The fire was contained to the cab and did not involve the tank. No injuries.

FLFR on the scene of a gas leak after workers demolishing a house busted a gas line. This happening at 1007 SE 11th Court in Rio Vista. Hazmat teams from Fort Lauderdale and Sunrise are working to cap the leak.
