50 years ago today, our county was carved up. There’s absolutely nothing to celebrate in this but let us celebrate the fact that our boundaries have been in place for hundreds of years, certainly since 1182. If you were born in this area, even post 1974 you are a Lancastrian. 🌹

It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Lord Doug Hoyle. Lord Hoyle was a patron of FORL who as a Lancastrian himself, born in #Warrington, was a loyal guardian of this historic county. Our thoughts are with his son The Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP and his family at this time.
