Eight years on, my thoughts are with the family and friends of Makram Ali and the wider community who were affected by the Finsbury Park terror attack. Londoners stand in solidarity in the face of such hate. Those who seek to divide us will never win.

Eight years ago, a far-right terrorist murdered 51-year-old Makram Ali and injured many others after driving a van into worshippers attending Ramadan prayers in the Finsbury Park terror attack. Our thoughts are with the family of Makram Ali and those still impacted.

Eight years ago, Makram Ali was killed in a horrific act of hate outside Finsbury Park Mosque. Today, I’m holding his family, the survivors, and his community in my heart. We must never stop challenging the forces that fuel this kind of violence. Hate has no place in our city.
