Open Source devs, it's okay to just close absolute-BS PRs without a word. I wish GitHub allowed to block these accounts, this was not bad enough to "report it" (and they should review those with enough blocks). It feels like GitHub could do so much more easily, but they don't.

Old GitHub Actions expire, and leave your stable repos' test badges as "No Status", which is of course highly undesirable. A potential solution is to re-run the tests once per year to update the test badge. A hack/fix to another annoying Github quirk:

Webdev is funny because tools keep improving but also becoming more complex, then a big new tools comes and fixes it all. This round I'm so happy with Bun, it just makes everything work, and I don't even worry about containers. *as I'm waiting for a 30+ min python docker build*

We waited 5+ years until Node.js added fetch() into the core, after hundreds of people asked for it. How long until they add argon2 support? 🫣 At least it seems Node is a bit more active now that Bun is stepping on their tail github.com/nodejs/node/pu…

TIL about Han Unification Unicode problem. A friend told me "that kanji is wrong", and I copied and pasted it into Google Translate and looked different. Turns out Unicode will "simplify" some Japanese into Chinese if you don't specify the encoding:

Every time I forget to do this, I end up regretting it, compare how visible the important warning is here (I was already mid-way trying to optimizing it and failing):
