Im hearing this a lot too. Its not just that farmers are assuming they will be affected by the APR changes, they are being told it by their accountants.

HM Treasury has always used budget secrecy as an excuse not to do the sort of consultation inside or outside Govt everyone else has to do. It’s increasingly clear that this secrecy is not necessary or conducive to good policy making, whatever the merits of specific tax decisions.

A new word leapt into my head in the middle of the night - "metrosplaining". When apparent experts pass confident judgement on rural issues while displaying a very obvious lack of knowledge about the rural economy and rural way of life. Who knows why I suddenly thought of it
