Starting today, we will introduce the projects of all our ESRs, first up: Teun at @DTUTweet! Teun Huijben works on computational methods to improve localization microscopy on nanoparticles, check out his summary figure below 🔬 #staytunedformore
Sarojini TU Eindhoven works on experimentally investigating particle-induced mislocalizations using correlative super-resolution microscopy. To help gain a true picture of the nanoparticle and its molecular interface which can be further used as biosensor or drug deliverer.
Our next ESR is iain harley Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung using #CryoEM to investigate how the functional groups that are attached to nanoparticles are effected during the functionalization process. This is important to ensure that the drug delivery system works as intended.
Next up: Francesca Mazzotta who works at the Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung @KLandfester Her work focuses on synthesising polymeric #Nanoparticles with controlled amount of functional groups. She is also working on introducing spatial control of the functional groups by synthesising Janus Nanoparticles.
Up next we have ESR08: Aleksandra! Aleksandra Adamczyk works with Guillermo Acuna Lab Uni Fribourg Her work focuses on orienting single fluorescent dyes using #DNAorigami technique for #plasmonics Check her out! 🔽
Bárbara TU Eindhoven works with synthesis and characterization of #DNA coated #colloids and their assembly behaviour. She aims to study surface functionalization density & distribution for subsequently fine tune the coating envisaging future application in #biosensing & #optics
Yesterday Rodrigo Rivas B, one of our ESRs Sapienza Università di Roma, gave a great talk on “Simulating Microgels” to share some of the SuperCol’s work with his fellow PhD students.
ESR 10 ➡️ Xhorxhina Shaulli She works with prof. Frank Scheffold Uni Fribourg Xhorxhina investigates porous, responsive #polymer particles with super resolution techniques for potential biomedical applications. ⬇️
ESR11 Shanil Gandhi BluSense Diagnostics works on bioconjugating NPs with biomarkers for biosensing like sensitivity, specificity, dynamic range& response time. The conjugates are used for PEPTIDE-PAINT to quantify the active sites on a single NP & perform structure-functional correlation
Our next ESR is Vincenzo Lamberti TU Eindhoven His work focuses on single-molecule DNA sensing using plasmonic enhanced fluorescence 🧬 Here is an overview of his work ⬇️
