The Sustainable Finance Taxonomy has been created without meaningful input from working farmers, it imposes unrealistic standards, and it risks cutting off financial services to legitimate, productive rural businesses.

Rabobank received the highest scores for overall satisfaction, communication quality and overdraft rate in this year’s report card – but clearly need to sharpen their pencils!

ANZ scored the best ratings for mortgage rates, the level of undue pressure felt by farmers, and mental health scores – but they’ve got some work to do on communication!

Westpac are currently sitting in the middle of the pack. Sharp interest rates and good communication, but have some work to do if they want to top the class next time!

BNZ need to pay more attention in class or they risk falling further behind. They’re easily distracted and aren’t playing nicely with others – particularly the rural petrol stations!

ASB are sitting at the bottom of the class and some serious work will be required to help lift their grades – but if they’re willing to put in the effort, we’re willing to work with them.
