Marcellus Williams will be executed on Sept 24--despite plenty of evidence of his innocence, the prosecutor's confession of racial bias, and opposition from the victim's family--unless Governor Mike Parsons (@GovParsonMO) finds his conscience. /🧵

It’s outrageous that Missouri is so close to executing Marcellus Williams. He was convicted at a trial where prosecutors intentionally struck at least one Black person from the jury pool. Witnesses were paid to point the finger at Marcellus. His DNA is not on the murder weapon.

A system that rules that an innocent man can be executed by the hands of the state is anything but just. @GovParsonMO must reverse his disgraceful decision not to stop this inhumane execution and act now to save Marcellus Williams' life.
