Delighted to have Martin Reid visit Fingal to review the progress of our Community Monuments Fund projects. First stop was Balrothery Tower House. This is the 2nd phase of works to consolidate this enigmatic tower house in line with the objectives of the CMP for the site #CMF2024

Another multi-phase Community Monument Fund project is that at St Columbas in Swords. Works to the round tower are being undertaken internally while works to reinstate floors are ongoing within the belfry tower. #CMF2024

An essential part of the CMF process is the Conservation & Management Plan. Making evidence based recommendations from a multi-disciplinary team. Dr Kim Rice of AMS Ltd. is leading the team at St Doulagh's Church supported by the members of the Friends of St Doulaghs. #CMF2024

St Fintan's Church in Sutton is proving to be another enigmatic monument. Surrounded by an enclosure the tiny church was a source of fascination for antiquarians in the 19th C. The CMP is being lead by Paul Duffy of IAC Ltd. with input from conservation engineer David Maher.
