The study, We described and named with a polyphasic approach was published in the best fish diseases Journal, Aquaculture. The bacterium we discovered was named after the prominent French microbiologist Jean-Francois Bernardet, who had worked about the Flavobacterium species.

Attention fish taxonomy nerds! The importance of this new mean damsel (Pomacentridae) paper in ASIH can't be overstated. Massive changes in taxonomy, including this very common Atlantic fish, which is now to be called Azurina multilineata! doi.org/10.1643/i20201…

Hot off the press: Great paper by Elodie Lédée, who wrangled a cast of thousands🙌 & tracking data from 14 species of 🐟 & 🦈! Another demonstration of why collaborative tracking networks like IMOS Animal Tracking are so beneficial. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Two years ago we started a new study to analyze the flood risk of a new airport thas was planned to be built in Horafushi island by reclaiming land on the reef flat. The conclusion was that the airport would be "often" flooded by wind waves even without sea level rise.

A year ago the airport was built and we submitted our paper. Last week the airport was flooded and our paper is still under review.

See Oxynoemacheilus isauricus, our latest nemacheilid fish described from Central Anatolia. We name it after the ancient name for Isauria. A very slender species what makes it so elegant and unique in O. angorae group. Jörg Freyhof @FishJournals researchgate.net/publication/35…

New paper out today, a thread. 5 years ago, fishermen brought us a specimen of this strange fish caught off Norway. We documented some aspects of its biology and hypothesized it arrived here due to warmer waters. Original paper available here: dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.marp…

We went to Swollfest Fish Rodeo at Grand Isle, Louisiana, last week and enjoyed fishing, food, music, dancing, and friends. Kenzi was their Inspirational Award recipient in 2021. She ended up with 6 flounder and some misc. species fish. A great time! #fishing #fishinglife #FishOn

11 more #sturgeon caught today during our survey in the #StClairRiver! Highlight was this fish that has a distinctive black “V” on its head. We last caught this fish in 2019 (1st photo) and the V is still obvious today (2nd photo)! #SturgeonSetlineDiary #LakeSturgeon
