We carried out an emergency fish rescue on the Hartley Burn on Tuesday following a report of large numbers of fish trapped in isolated pools. We used electric fishing to rescue more than 500 young salmon & sea trout and safely relocated them further downstream.

The first of the marked dace has already been recaptured! It was caught near Riding Mill on the River Tyne, 4km downstream of where dace were stocked last week. A huge thank you to anglers checking their catches, please keep reporting all marked dace caught from the Tyne.
