Alan Lodge at the end of his bookshop talk commemorating the Battle of the Beanfield, the mid-80s attack on the hippies of the day, joined by Kate Wilson in town discussing Spycops at the SumacCentre. A very political day. Thanks to all who attended.

Always good to stumble upon a new indie #bookshop – and this one’s a gem. Found Five Leaves Bookshop tucked away in a quiet alley in the heart of #Nottingham. Fantastic selection of books and some really interesting #author events coming up too.

We loved this visit from Bulwell students, and their enthusiasm for books. Thanks also to Siobhan Dowd Trust and School Library Association (SLA)

🥳 Kicking off Independent Bookshop Week with exciting news: Danny Dorling News (Seven Children: Inequality and Britain’s Next Generation) and Eleanor Medhurst (she/her) (Unsuitable: A History of Lesbian Fashion) have been longlisted for the 2025 Bread and Roses Prize for Radical Publishing! 👏

We've launched the Bread & Roses Award longlist to mark the start of #IndependentBookshopWeek! The award for political writing is presented by the ARB, so celebrate both by picking up one of these beauties from your fave radical bookshop! breadandrosesprize.wordpress.com/2025/06/14/bre… #BreadAndRoses
