As the team at Flanner House Of Ind opens the doors of Cleo’s Bodega, they join other Healthy Food Access programs such as the “Food in Transit” Market and Devington’s Mobile Market, working to ensure more of our neighbors have access to healthy food options.

Today, we are proud to join Indianapolis Dept. of Metropolitan Development to announce that Flanner House Of Ind is the recipient of the first Healthy Food Access Grant. In partnership with Under The Sun LLC, IU Health, and Brandywine Creek Farms, Flanner House will use their $400,000 award to develop Cleo’s Bodega.


This afternoon, it’s great to be with Indianapolis Dept. of Metropolitan Development, Indianapolis OPHS, Indy Food to announce the first recipient of the City’s Healthy Food Access Grant: Flanner House Of Ind! #Indy #OneCity


This $400,000 grant, made possible by the Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant program, will fund the creation of Cleo’s Bodega at Flanner House Of Ind - a micro-grocery store that will provide fresh, affordable food to the approx. 5,200 surrounding households.



Indianapolis Dept. of Metropolitan Development Flanner House Of Ind IU Health Mayor Joe Hogsett This micro-grocery store will aim to increase distribution and consumption of affordable, healthy, and organic food, serving approximately 5,200 households in the North West Area neighborhood and surrounding community.


Today, Flanner House Of Ind was awarded a $400k Healthy Food Access Grant from the City. This funding will launch Cleo’s Bodega, a micro grocery that will open in the Flanner House Admin building. This initiative will provide jobs, access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food! #MNAHope
