Inspiring start to CogSciSci this morning- thank you Sarah Cottinghatt for the insightful key messages around the importance of learners’ existing knowledge and how it affects what they pay attention to. The notion of meaningful forgetting was so fascinating too.

An absolutely fantastic session from BioRach at CogSciSci this week. So accessible, so relevant to all stages of education and SO many take-aways on the implications of CLT for pupils in every moment of our lessons. Thank you- can’t wait to hear your brilliant podcast!

Couldn’t agree more Sarah Cottinghatt - it certainly made me think very hard about the importance of rehearsal for initial encoding prior to retrieval & the ‘discriminative contrast hypothesis!’ blew my mind a little bit! 🙏 Jade Pearce @isaacmoore7 Tom Sherrington & Emma Turner FCCT

Such a cracking set of accessible evidence-informed texts. Just started, ‘Strengthening the student toolbox’ by Amarbeer Singh Gill and am immediately blown away by its clarity and relevance- the classroom examples are brilliant- I would thoroughly recommend this read. 🙏 thank you!

Amazing achievement - I’ve loved listening to them. Thoroughly recommend signing up to the T&L spotlight, thank you, Jade Pearce and Brad Busch - your delivery is so informative & accessible for leaders of T&L and class teachers. Being both, I get so much from your sessions 👌

Thanks Sarah Cottinghatt Adam Kohlbeck FCMI FCCT & Chris Passey FCCT this is BRILLIANT! Love the cognitive vs behavioural causes & the notion of mitigating transience. Q: WHAT IF the teacher’s goal isn’t clear because they are so focused on/distracted by ‘getting through the curriculum content’

This was absolutely BRILLIANT! Thanks Jade Pearce 👌👌 so clear, succinct & I loved the forensic look at the 3 stages of adaptive teaching- but through the lens of modelling, explaining and feedback. ‘Cognitively active’ is definitely the phrase I have been looking for this week!
