Armageddon. Ground Zero. The perfect storm of almost impossible volumes of rain, w/ water infrastructure (dams) that were not designed (nor maintained) for this sort of event. Our infrastructure was built for a climate that no longer exists. #LibyaFlood #Flood Planet imagery

Come join our team that is trying to better understand the role of ditches, streams and DREAMS (Ditch + stREAM = novel ecosystem??) in landscapes and how we can better manage them in a forestry context!

Question to ’#geomorphologists’ only! What does ’last author’ of a published article mean to you? I’m in an ecology-heavy dept where last author is an important role (& impt for CV) but I’m used to it meaning ‘the one who contributed the least’

Small boulder the size of a big boulder got us thinking.... How big is a boulder? 🪨 (and perhaps more importantly - why it matters and isn't just semantics!) Lina Polvi Sjöberg and I have a new paper out now in ESP&L: > tinyurl.com/how-big-boulder BSG Geomorphology #teamboulder

The best place to relax is near water. After just 2 minutes of viewing water outdoors, blood pressure and heart rate drop. It's more calming to look at a lake, pool, or stream than trees or grass. Beaches are popular for a reason. Wider bodies of water bring more tranquility.
